AL pays tribute to Bangabandhu on 6-point Day
The ruling party Awami League and its front organisations paid tributes by placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi on the occasion of historic six-point day here this morning.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid her homage at first by placing a wreath at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. After laying the wreath, the Premier stood in solemn silence for few minutes in front of the portrait.
As the President of Awami League, Sheikh Hasina placed another wreath at Bangabandhu`s portrait and stood for few moments in silence.
Awami League Advisory Council member Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader, Presidium member and Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif and other AL leaders Dr Abdul Razzak, Colonel (retd) Muhammad Faruk Khan, Dr Dipu Moni, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, were present, among others.
Later, other leaders and workers of AL associate bodies, different political parties in a large queue placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu and chanted various slogans like "Joi Bangla, Joi Bangabandhu" and "There will be no place for war criminals in Mujib`s Bangla".
