Khaleda appears before court in graft case
The Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Khaleda Zia appeared before a court in Dhaka on Monday in connection with Zia Orphanage Trust graft case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
She reached the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Judge court in Bakshibazar at11.32pm.
Earlier on April 27, the court asked Khaleda Zia to appear before the court today in connection with the graft case.
On July 3, 2008, the ACC filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case against Khaleda, her son Tarique Rahman and four others for embezzlement of over Tk 2.1 crore by forming a “fake” trust which existed only on paper.
