Shun confusing statement on PM’s India tour: Hasan to BNP

Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today called upon BNP to shun any confusing statement to misguide the common people centering Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official tour to India.

“No country was sold by signing any Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) . . .Bangladesh, which was achieved through 1971 Liberation War, won’t be sold to India,” he said while speaking at a discussion organised by Swadhinata Shikkhak Parishad (SKP) at Jatiya Press Club here.

On the defence deal with India during the BNP government in 2002, Dr Hasan, said, “BNP government didn’t disclose any matters of defence deal before mass people at that time, but they (BNP leaders) are now criticising the incumbent government.”

Dr Hasan observed that people of Bangladesh do not accept anti-Indian politics at all.

SKP President and Vice-Chancellor of World University Prof Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury chaired the discussion where SKP general secretary Principal Shahjahan Alam Saju also spoke on the occasion.
