Proceedings of 2 subversion cases against Khaleda stayed
The High Court (HC) today stayed proceedings of two subversion cases against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Md Miftah Uddin Choudhury and Justice ANM Bashir Ullah passed the order accepting the BNP chief`s appeal in this regard.
"The High Court has stayed the proceedings of the two cases. We will file an appeal with the apex court against this order," said deputy attorney general Sheikh AKM Moniruzzaman.
Khaleda Zia on April 4 filed the plea with the High Court, challenging the order, through which the trial court had took the charges against her into cognizance.
Police filed the two cases against Khaleda and others for vandalizing and setting fire to two buses in capital`s Darus Salam area in 2015 during the country-wide blockade program of BNP-led 20-party alliance.
