Suranjit urges Khaleda to do lawful politics
Awami League advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta, MP, on Saturday urged BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to shun the path of imprudent politics and do lawful politics.
"Please, do come to the path of disciplined politics . . . The path of election is the right way to change the state power which is widely accepted across the globe" he said to Khaleda Zia while speaking at a discussion in the city.
`Nouka Samarthok Gousthi (Boat Supporters Group)` organized the discussion on "Current Politics in Bangladesh" at Diploma Engineers Institution auditorium with its adviser Emdadul Haq Selim in the chair.
Suranjit, also former railways minister, was very critical about Begum Khaleda Zia and said she tried to unseat the government in many ways but on the contrary she pushed BNP into the way of destruction. On recent municipality polls, he said it was proved once again that the votes of BNP ultimately decreased in the polls, which was cordially accepted by all concerned.
"BNP and its allies totally failed to make the Awami League government failure one in holding the 10th parliamentary polls and subsequently in the recent municipality polls," he alleged.
Senior AL leader hoped that the upcoming Union Parishad election would be more vibrant as mass people are eagerly waiting for the polls.
Assistant secretary of AL sub-committee Eskandar Mirza Shameem, Krishak League leader Najir Mia, Harun Chowdhury of Samyabadi Dal and secretary general of Bangabandhu Academy Humayun Kabir Miji , among others, took part in the discussion.
