Next polls under PM Hasina: Nasim
Awami League Presidium Member and Health Minister Mohammad Nasim today said the next national election will be held in 2019 as per the constitution under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
"The Election Commission (EC) has stepped into field to play the role of a referee," he said speaking as the chief guest at a public meeting of local Awami League after laying foundation stone of 10-bed Amena Mansur Mother and Child Welfare Centre at Chalitadanga of Kazipur.
Presided over by Chalitadanga union Awami League President Ruhul Amin Sarker, the meeting was also addressed by former MP Engineer Tanvir Shakir Joy and AL leaders Sirajul Islam Khan, Health Directorate Chief Engineer Brig Gen MA Mohi and local Civil Surgeon Dr. Sheikh Manjur Rahman, among others.
Mohammad Nasim said like in other countries of parliamentary democracy, election will be held in Bangladesh as per the constitution.
"There is no alternative to this," he added.
The minister hoped that the people will vote for Awami League for its development programme against the destructive activities of BNP.
The people will evaluate good jobs of the government and vote to continue the trend of development, he said.
Earlier, the minister visited the construction site of Taka 7.5-crore Shaheed M Mansur Ali Auditorium at Kazipur.
