Khaleda sued over comment on martyrs
Khaleda Zia, Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was sued for questioning the number of martyrs in the country’s Liberation War of 1971.
Founding president of Bangabandhu Foundation Advocate Moshiur Malik filed the case with Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Sunday morning.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Atiqur Rahman accepted the case. Last reported around 11:40am, the judge was hearing arguments in the case.
It is mentionable that, on December 21, Khaleda – in her first public address in more than a year – said “there are controversies over how many were martyred in the Liberation War.”
