BCL to hold rally only Fridays-Saturdays
Considering the sufferings of the city dwellers, ruling party student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has come up with an innovative idea. The student organisation has declared that from now on, they will hold their political programmes only on Fridays-Saturdays.
Bangladesh Chhatra League General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain made the announcement on Tuesday at a reunion program of BCL held at historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
“From now on, Bangladesh Chhatra League has decided to hold their rallies at the weekly holiday (Friday and Saturday) in the capital,” said Zakir.
The declaration came following recent gridlocks on the roads due to political events.
Earlier, AL general secretary Obaidul Qader said that rallies that can block public roads would not be allowed.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present as the chief guest at the programme while BCL central President Saifur Rahman Sohag presided over it . Former BCL leaders and supporters were also present.
