Apologies for 3 AL MP’s granted

The Election Commission has released three Members of the Parliament of Awami League (AL) from the charges of violating electoral code of conduct as they sought unconditional apology.

Election Commission sent letters in this regard to all concerned on Monday.

The lawmakers are M A Malek, MP from Dhaka-20, Shafiqul Islam Shimul, Natore-2 and Shawkat Hasanur Rahman Rimon, Barguna-2.

Acknowledging the letter an EC official said Commission sent letters to the three lawmakers referring about to take steps against them as they violated electoral code and conduct. In reply, they confessed the allegations and sought unconditional apology.

‘So, they were given clarification letters as EC directed to grant their apologies,’ he added.
