‘There is no democracy’: Fakhrul

BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said there is no democracy here in Bangladesh and here also has no freedom of speech and the right to vote.

The BNP spokesperson came up with the urge while briefing media after a meeting at the party chairperson’s Gulshan political office in Dhaka on Saturday noon.

The meeting was held among the secretaries of BNP-led 20-party alliance over their preparations regarding the elections which will be held on December 30.

‘We have taken the decision to work on behalf of our candidates the rest of the days scheduled to campaign’, Fakhrul said.

He urged the Awami League government not to interfere in the upcoming maiden partisan municipal elections.
