Govt to assist EC in holding municipal elections neutrally: Kamal

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal on Tuesday said the government is prepared to give all out support to the Election Commission (EC) to hold the upcoming municipality polls across the country in a free, fair and neutral manner.

"The government will provide all necessary supports as per desire of the Election Commission for holding the municipality polls in a free fair and impartial manner as the commission is an independent and neutral organization," he said while talking to local journalists at the circuit house here.

"Bangladesh is in a better condition in comparison to other parts of the world as militancy and terrorism are dominating those areas," he added.

The minister made a stopover at Feni Circuit House on his way to Chittagong.
