Niko graft: Khaleda appeals against HC order

BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia today filed an appeal with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, challenging the High Court order that paved the way for lower court to continue with the Niko graft case against her.

Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon filed the appeal on behalf of Khaleda.

The High Court in its order on June 18 said the proceedings of the case will continue at the trial court. The court also rejected a plea of Khaleda, praying for quashing the case.

It also ordered the BNP chief to surrender before the trial court within two months of releasing of the verdict.
