Khaleda urges govt to give shelter to Rohingyas
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia urged government to give shelter to the Rohingya people of Myanmar who have fled persecution.
The former prime minister also urged other countries and Muslim world to take side with Rohingya people on humanitarian ground.
Khaleda made the call in a statement issued on Sunday.
“I am urging all humanitarian states, specially the Muslim world, United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other international organisations to stand beside the people of Rohingyas and take necessary steps to compel the Myanmar government to establish peace and stop the persecution of Rohingyas,” she said.
The former prime minister also criticized Aung San Suu Kyi led government for their inaction to protect Rohingya people.
