BNP once again seeks army deployment for NCC polls

BNP once again demanded the deployment of army in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) polls for ensuring free, fair and peaceful election.

Senior Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi demanded it while he was talking to journalists at a press conference at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters in the capital.

‘Last time Selina Hayat Ivy demanded the deployment of army in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) polls which was held in 2011 for ensuring fair balloting while she was contesting as an independent candidate. But this time she said there is no need to deployment of army’, Rizvi said.

He said, Naraynganj is known as City of Godfathers. The voters will be able to cast their vote as their choice if army works there as a striking force.

It is mentionable that BNP demanded army deployment to hold fair election in Narayanganj City Corporation Polls at a meeting at VIP Lounge in Press Club on Tuesday.

According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission, the NCC will go to polls on December 22.
