BNP to hold rally at Nayapaltan: Rizvi

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said BNP will hold their scheduled mass gathering in front of its central office at Nayapalatan in the capital to mark the 41st anniversary of November 7.

He made the remarks on Monday at a press briefing at party’s central office at Nayapalatan.

Rizvi said, ‘We have sent a permission letter to police to hold the rally in front of party’s central office, we are yet to get ratification of the application.’

‘We must hold the rally, there will no comment in this regard. All the necessary steps have been taken to make it successful.

‘Earlier the government didn’t give permission to hold rally at Suhrawardy Udyan. We hope police will positively respond about the matter as soon as possible,’ he added.

BNP senior joint secretary general said, ‘We have no hesitation and confusion to hold the rally and no excuse will be allowed this time.’

BNP chairperson’s adviser Abdus Salam, Habibur Rahman Habib, co-organizing secretary Abdus Salam Azad and co-office secretary Monir Hossen, among others, were present there.
