HC to deliver verdict on Fakhrul`s bail Nov 22
The High Court (HC) on Monday set November 22 to deliver its verdict on separate bail petitions by BNP`s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three cases of arson and vandalism against him.
The HC division bench comprising Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Md Khasruzzaman fixed the date for its verdict on three petitions of bail in three arson attack cases filed with Paltan Police Station.
On November 11 it held hearing on the bail petitions and set November 16 for delivering verdict while it reset November 22 for handing down the verdict.
Earlier on June 21 last, the same HC bench granted ad interim bail to Fakhrul and issued separate rules on the government to explain as to why he will not be awarded with regular bail in the cases.
The court ordered Fakhrul to surrender before the trial court after completion of the bail. He went to the USA and Singapore for treatment after freeing from the jail on bail.
The Appellate Division (AD) of the Supreme Court (SC) expanded bail period twice and in the third time it asked Fakhrul to surrender before the court.
