Jamaat leader Lokman held in Sylhet

Police arrested Jamaat-e-Islami district (South) unit general secretary Maulana Lokman Ahmad on various charges from his house in South Surma upazila early Thursday.

Officer-in-charge of South Surma Police Station Ataur Rahman said tipped off, a team of police conducted a raid on the house of Lokman, former chairman of the upazila parishad, in the area and arrested him at about 3:00 am.

He said, there are several cases filed against the Jamaat leader.
