Gayeshwar sent to jail

BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has sent to jail again after his surrender before a court here on Wednesday in a case filed against him with Rampura Police Station in connection with violence.

Metropolitan Session’s Judge M Quamrul Hossain Mollah passed the order rejecting the BNP leader’s bail prayer.

Earlier on Tuesday, the court issued a warrant for the arrest of 35 opposition leaders and activists, including Gayeshwar and former Dhaka city mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka, in the case as the accused did not appear before the court during the hearing.
