Disgraced CCIE Controller Shahidul suspended
Controller of the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports (CCIE) M Shahidul Haque who was filmed while counting bribed money has been suspended.
“Yes, he has been suspended …a departmental case has been filed against him,” Commerce Secretary Hedayet Ullah Al Mamoon told UNB on Tuesday.
He said they got permission to carry out an investigation against the CCIE Controller. Earlier on October 11, Shahidul Haque was withdrawn from his office.
Earlier, a leading Bengali daily published an investigative report on his corrupt practices describing how much serious he was in taking bribe in cash.
The functions of the office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports are governed by the Imports and Exports (Control) Act 1950; the Importers, Exporters Indentors (Registration) Order, 1981, and Review, Appeal and Revision Order 1977.
