Hearing on SQ Chy, Mojaheed’s review appeal Nov 2

The Supreme Court on Tuesday fixed November 2 for hearing review appeal of war crimes convicts Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid.

Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, chamber judge of the Appellate Division, fixed the date for hearing the petitions before the full bench of the division.

The war criminals filed the pleas to review their sentences on Oct 14. The next day, the State filed the petition.

On October 1, the International Crimes Tribunal had issued death warrants against Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mojaheed and Salauddin Quader Chowdhury .

The Supreme Court on September 30 released the full verdicts awarding death penalty to Mojaheed and SQ Chowdhury for their crimes during the Liberation War, clearing the way for the execution of the judgment.
