2 Bangladeshi nationals killed by BSF
Two Bangladeshi nationals were shot dead by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Kurigram and Jhenidah districts early Friday.
In Jhenidah, Jashim Mandal was shot dead by BSF troops along Baghadanga bordering area in Maheshpur upazila early Friday.
Commanding officer of Khalishpur BGB-58 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Tajul Islam said when Jashim along with some other people went to Hazrar Khal area for bringing cattle around 4 am the BSF members of Ramnagar camp opened fire on them, leaving Jashim dead on the spot.
The BSF men dragged the body into the Indian territory while the others managed to flee.
In Kurigram, another Bangladeshi youth was shot dead by BSF troops along Goytarpar frontier in Roumari upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Lal Mia, 25, son of Abdul Hye of Fakirpara village in the upazila.
Commanding officer of Jamalpur BGB-35 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Islam said the BSF members opened fire on some Bangladeshi men when they went near the main pillar no 1068 around 5 am, leaving Lal Mia dead on the spot.
A letter has been sent to the BSF authorities protesting the incident, he said.
