8 pirates held in Ctg

Coast Guard arrested eight sea pirates with huge quantity of goods in a drive made at Soakhali ghat area of Sandwip upazila last on Sunday night.

The arrested youths were identified as Abul Kashem,22, Ekram Hossain,26, Abul Kalam,26, Nazim Uddin,21, Khaled,25, Jakir Hossain,28, Rubel Hossain,26, and Babul Hossain,27.

Acting on secret information, a team of coast guard personnel raided Soakhali ghat area of Sandwip upazila at 12-30 am last night and arrested them with huge goods in their possession.

A case was filed with Sandwip thana in this connection.
