Gridlock on Dhaka-Chittagong highway

A severe gridlock has been created on Dhaka-Chittagong highway since morning.

A 13-kilometre-long tailback was created from Comilla’s Meghna Bridge to Meghna-Gomoti Bridge at Daudkandi area.

However, there is no traffic jam at 44-km in Chauddagram upazila and at 42-km road from Alekharchar Bishawroad to Daudkandi’s Gouripur of the highway.

Daudkandi Highway police sources said the vehicles which ply on four lanes have to make two lanes while they cross Meghna-Gomoti bridges that created the queue.

The gridlock at Daudkandi part of the highway has almost become unmanageable.
