Govt seeks stay on Liton’s surrender order

The government on Tuesday seeks the Supreme Court’s stay on a High Court order that directed Manzurul Islam Liton to surrender before a lower court by October 18.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam told reporters that the SC chamber judge may hold hearing today.

Earlier on October 12, Liton surrendered before the High Court.

Liton is implicated in the two cases for shooting a 10-year-old boy and looting and vandalising a house soon after the firing.
