Govt orders to deploy BGB in 22 districts

Home ministry has directed to deploy BGB in 22 districts, including the capital, to control any unwanted situattion during the country-wide blockade called by the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) led 22-party alliance. The order came after the Deputy Commissioners had applied for deployment of security force for the safety of common people and to keep situation under control.

Home Ministry decided to deploy a total of 59 platoons of BGB member, said a gazette signed by Habibur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of the political branch of the ministry.

Among the 59 platoons, 10 will be deployed in the capital. The rest 49 will be allocated in Gazipur, Bogra, Chapainababganj and other 16 districts.
