PM condemns Ankara bomb attacks
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has strongly condemned the twin terrorist bomb attacks in Ankara, Turkey, and reiterated that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
In a condolence message sent to Turkish Prime Minister Professor Dr. Ahmet Davutoglu, Sheikh Hasina said: "It is a matter of deep sorrow and great concern that 86 Turkish people were killed and more than 186 were injured due to twin terrorist bomb attacks in Ankara on Saturday."
"I express my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to you and through you to the bereaved family members of the victims as well as all the Turkish brethren for this tragic incident. We strongly condemn the barbaric and cowardly terrorist attacks," she said.
The Prime Minister said: "The people of Bangladesh join me in expressing their solidarity in your fight against terrorism in the country and beyond."
Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and my government has been pursing "zero tolerance" policy towards terrorism. "We reaffirm our government`s commitment to work together with the Republic of Turkey and the world community to fight against this menace," she said.
"We pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls. May the Almighty give the members of the bereaved families the courage and fortitude to overcome the irreparable loss," she said.
