Trial run of Kolkata-Khulna bus service tomorrow
The trial run for the Kolkata-Khulna bus service takes place tomorrow.
The bus service will be flagged off by West Bengal Transport Minister Suvendu Adhikari, according to a media release issued by Indian High Commission here on Monday.
A bus will leave Kolkata at 12.30 pm (Indian time) and will reach Khulna at 7.30 pm (local time) on the same day.
The trial run will enable operators and transporters to understand the practical issues involved in plying on the route and the data collected from this will form a basis for regular cargo and passenger movement being proposed under BBIN MVA, reports BSS.
Meanwhile, the cargo vehicle that left Dhaka on August 27 for New Delhi on a trial run under the Bangladesh Bhutan India Nepal (BBIN) Motor Vehicle Agreement (MVA) will be ceremonially received in Kolkata tomorrow.
The cargo vehicle with garment products will travel to New Delhi via Benapole-Petrapole-Kolkata and Lucknow, said the release.
It will reach New Delhi on September 1.
The BBIN Motor Vehicle Agreement was signed at the BBIN Transport Ministers meeting in Thimpu, Bhutan on June 15, 2015.
