Car torched in Gazipur

Picketers of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Monday morning set fire on a private car at Cherag Ali market area of Tongi in Gazipur.

Sirajul Islam, Inspector of special branch of the office of Gazipur Police Super told Jagonews picketers torched the car at around 7.45 in the morning amid the ongoing strike and hartal called by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD, the student wing of BNP. Police arrested a picketer from the spot.

Before this on Sunday night, picketers set fire on a truck at Dhirasram area of the town. Police doused the fire with the help of the locals.
