Myanmarese national held with 1.50 lakh Yaba pills

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a Myanmarese national along with 1.50 lakh pieces of Yaba tablet from Jaliapara in the Naf River in Teknaf upazila early Tuesday, reports UNB.

The arrestee was indentified as Rahmat Ali,20, son of Amir Ali, a resident of Tailpara in Banda thana of Akiab district in Myanmar.

Tipped off, a team of the border force challenged a boat from Myanmar while crossing the Naf river in the area near the residence of MP Abdur Rahman Bodi of Cox’s Bazar constituency around 12:30 am, said Major Jafrul Haque, acting commanding officer of BGB-42.

At one stage, the BGB team arrested Rahmat Ali while his other associates managed to flee the scene.

Later, the BGB team recovered 1.50 lakh Yaba pills from the boat.

A case was filed in this connection.
