4 held with 12kg gold in Savar

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested four people along with 12 kilograms of gold from Tantibazar of the capital and Aminbazar in Savar, on the city’s outskirts Thursday night.

The identities of the arrestees could not yet be known but Rab claimed that they are members of an international gold smuggling syndicate.

Additional Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman, assistant director of RAB (press wing) said acting on secret information members of RAB-1 conducted a drive at the area and arrested the four along with 12 kilograms of gold.

Details about the drive will be unveiled at a press briefing on Friday noon.
