UP chairman among 14 sent to jail in Netrokona

A Netrokona court on Wednesday sent a UP chairman and 13 others to jail in a case filed over an attempt to murder Kalmakanda Upazila Chairman Shah Md. Fakhrul Islam in 2015.

According to the prosecution, Nizirpur UP chairman Abdul Kuddus and his proponents carried out a sudden attack on Shah Md. Fakhrul Islam while he was going to Kalmakanda from Netrokona with Government vehicle in July 2015.

Later, an attempt to murder and vehicle vandalise cases were filed in this connection accusing 15 people including Babul.

On Wednesday, The court rejected the bail petitions and sent them to jail while they were seeking bail.
