6 more die from dengue, 953 hospitalised in 24 hrs
Six more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 230 this year.
Of the new deaths, two were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation (DSCC) and one was recorded in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Barishal division, Khulna division, and Rajshahi division each.
During the period, 953 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, raising the total cases to 54,559 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (October 12).
Of the new cases, 141 were recorded in Barishal division (Out of CC), 107 in Chattogram division (Out of CC), 197 in Dhaka division (Out of CC), 147 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 122 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Besides, 93 new cases were recorded in Khulna division (Out of CC), 46 in Mymensingh division (Out of CC), 69 in Rajshahi division (Out of CC), 23 in Rangpur division (Out of CC), and eight in Sylhet division (Out of CC).
