Student agitation cripples JnU

Students of Jagannath University (JnU) enforced a fresh two-day strike at the university on Tuesday morning to press home their demand for constructing residential halls for them on the empty land of Dhaka’s old central jail.

Hundreds of agitating students thronged the JnU campus around 8:30am and locked most of the buildings.

They also did not let teacher’s bus enter the university since they blocked the road in front of the gate and took out a procession.

The JnU students embarked on the movement for dormitories on the land of Dhaka Central Jail on August 2 after the transfer of its total setup to the newly-built jail facility in Keraniganj last month.
