Drug traders killed in Brahmmanbaria ‘gunfight’
A top drug trader was killed in an alleged gunfight with police at Kasba upazila in Brahmmanbaria in the early hours of Tuesday.
The deceased is Md. Rahiz Uddin alias Rohizza, 45, son of late Ali Fakir, of village Konabari of Gopinathpur union of the upazila.
Apart from, one Sub Inspector and three Constables were also injured in this incident.
They are Md. Belal Hosen, Sub Inspector of Kasba Police Station, Constable Faruk, Sohag and Saiful.
In this connection, Officer-in-charge of Kasba Police Station Md. Mohiuddin told that police conducted a drive at Konabari at 12.30am. Sensing presence of police, Rahiz’s cohorts opened fire on them. Later police also fired back and Rahiz died on the spot.
Rahiz was accused in different cases filed with Kazba Police Station, OC said.
Police also recovered a pipe gun, a machete, 100 liquor bottles, and 300 yaba pills from their possessions.
