Life term jail for dishonouring Bangabandhu

Cabinet on Monday approved a draft law with a provision of life term imprisonment and Tk 1 crore compensation for dishonouring Liberation War or Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

According to the proposed Digital Security Act-2016, anyone spreading propaganda against the Liberation War or Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, using digital devices, will face the penalty, cabinet secretary told journalists following a cabinet meeting today.

The secretary was talking to reporters after the weekly cabinet meeting at Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
