6 fishermen bodies recovered in Cox’s Bazar
Six fishermen were died after a fishing boat capsized in the Bay of Bengal in Maheshkhali upazila on Sunday.
Local people recovered the deceased bodies along with another seven alive.
Bakhtiar Uddin Chowdhury, Officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station confirmed the matter.
Two of the deceased were identified as Rahmatullah and Mohammad Kabir. They are the inhabitants of Khurushkul Jalshiri Abason Prokolpo.
According to source, the fishing boat with 13 fishermen sank in the bay near Sonadia Island around 3:30 am after it was hit by another trawler.
On information, a team of Sadar Police Station rushed to the spot and conducted rescue operation.
