Two youths killed in Tangail ‘gunfight’

Two youths were killed in an alleged gunfight with the members of Detective Branch (DB) of police in Tangail.

The incident took place on Tangail-Mymensingh road of Daira area in Madhupur upazila early Sunday.

DB police also recovered bomb making materials, jihadii books, a pistol and two machetes from their possession.

In this connection officer-in-charge (DB) of Tangail, Ashok Kumar Singh said a DB team signaled two riders of motorbike. But they opened fire at police forced them to fire back that triggered a gunfight.  At that time, two youths were killed on the spot.

The deceased bodied were kept at Modhupur Upzila Health Complex for autopsy, OC said.
