Hartal going on excluding Dhaka City

Excluding Dhaka metropolitan area, hartal called by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal(JCD), student wing of the main opposition BNP, is going on in Dhaka and other 13 districts. Strike sponsored by BNP and its allies is going on at the same time.

The districts other than Dhaka covered by the hartal are Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Tangail, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Comilla, Brahmanbaria, Kishorganj, Mymensingh, Sherpur, Jamalpur and Netrokona.

JCD called the hartal protesting confinement of their leader BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in her Gulshan office from January 5. Besides, JCD demands immediate release of the leaders and activists arrested during the strike.
