Five killed in Comilla road accident

Five people including a couple and two siblings were killed and one person was injured in a road accident at Pahob area on Muradnagar-Eliotganj road in Muradnagar on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Rubel Miah,35 and his younger brother Shohel Miah,32 son of Abdul Latif of Kaserkandi, Shohag Miah,40 and his wife Nasima Begum,35 of Paspukaria village, Abdul Mannan,65 of same village and Himel ,12 of Paspukaria village in Muradnagar.

Muradnagar police officer-in-charge Mizanur Rahman said the accident took place at about 11:00am when a Paspukaria-bounded auto-rickshaw collided head on with a goods-leaden truck leaving Shohel Miah dead on the spot and five other critically injured. The injured were rushed to Muradnagar Upazila Health Complex where Rubel,Mannan,Himel and Nasima died two hours later.

A case was filed with the Muradnagar police and the bodies of the deceased were sent to the Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for post mortem examination.
