bKash agent shot, Tk 5 lakh robbed

Unidentified muggers shot an employee of a bKash agent shop and snatched away Tk 5 lakh at Vatara area in the capital on Saturday.

The incident took place at Masud Enterprise of Nurerchala area in Vatara thana.

The injured is Jahirul Islam Jahir, 24. He is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Sentu Chandra Das, officer-in-charge of DMCH said, three muggers looted the money after shooting Jahirul at Masud Enterprise around 11pm.

On information, Selim khan, shop’s owner and bKash agent, rushed to the spot and rescued critically injured Jahirul with the help of locals and sent him to DMCH.

Nurul Muttakhin, officer- in- charge of Vatara Police Station confirmed the matter.
