Shots fired at house of rice mill owners’ leader Rashid

Unidentified gunmen fired shots at the house of Bangladesh Auto Major and Husking Mill Owners Association president, Abdur Rashid, in Kushtia on Wednesday afternoon, April 9.
He was not at home during the attack.
Two men wearing helmets riding a motorcycle came to Rashid’s under-construction building in Court Para area in the district town, fired several shots and fled quickly, said Kushtia model police station’s officer-in-charge Mosharraf Hossain.
They checked CCTV footage and were trying to identify the motorcycle’s registration number, he added.
About the attack, Rashid said his nephew and Golden Rice Mill owner Zihaduzzaman Ziku secured the auction of local Ailchara marketplace (Haat) and since then, the ‘terrorists’ had been threatening them, and today, they fired shots at his house.
Rashid also said he suspects Kushtia sadar thana BNP’s member secretary Jahidul Islam Biplob and Munna might have carried out the attack by terrorists to take control of the marketplace.
BNP leader Jahid refused the allegations.
