Govt orders action against corrupt officials

The government has directed departmental action against public officials and employees deemed corrupt by the public, based on intelligence reports.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued the order in a letter dated March 20 to all secretaries, directors general, executive directors, managing directors, chairmen, divisional commissioners, and deputy commissioners.

The directive follows a February 20 decision by the Public Administration Committee, formed January 8 under Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed to oversee appointments, transfers, and discipline for senior officials.

The letter targets those in ministries, divisions, and subordinate offices widely seen as corrupt, per intelligence findings.
