53 injured July warriors get Tk 1 lakh each

Fifty-three people who sustained injuries during the July-August student-led mass uprising last year have been given financial assistance of Tk 1 lakh each.
Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter handed over the cheques of financial support at a function organised by July Shaheed Smrity Foundation at Khulna Shilpokola Academy in Khulna on Sunday, March 9.
Addressing the occasion, Farida said the interim government is committed to providing financial support and treatment to the injured persons of July movement as long as it’s required.
She urged all to build social resistance against all violence and repression against women saying students should come forward to prevent such social curse from the country.
She said a new department under the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs will be set up soon to continue support to the families of the martyrs and injured persons of the uprising.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of July Shaheed Smrity Foundation Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho and senior government officials also spoke on the occasion.
