Youth to die for killing Chandpur teenager

A Chandpur Court on Tuesday convicted a youth and sentenced him to death for killing Shahadat Hossain Raju at Faridganj upazila of the district in 2012.

The convict was identified as Arif Miji, 28, son of Rezaul Karim alias Hossain Miji, hailing from Aitpara village in Faridganj upazila of the district.

The court also fined him tk 1, 00, 000.

According to prosecution, miscreants sneaked into the house of Billal Hossain, a resident of the village and hacked his son Shahadat Hossain Raju, 19, to death on August 23, 2012.

In the following morning, family members found his body on the pond of blood and informed police.

On the day, Billal Hossain filed a case with Faridganj Police Station in this regard.

On September 30 of the year, Mamunur Rashid, Sub-inspector Faridganj Police Station and the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet against 14 people in the court.

After examining all the records and witnesses, Additional District and Session Judge Md. Manumur Rashid handed down the verdict.
