39 bank accounts of Saifuzzaman Chy frozen

A Dhaka court has ordered the freezing of 39 bank accounts belonging to former Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury. The order was issued by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib in response to a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
According to the investigating officer's petition, a total of Tk 5.26 crore is deposited in these accounts.
The petition stated that a team has been formed to investigate money laundering charges against Saifuzzaman Chowdhury. During the investigation, there is a risk that he may transfer these movable assets. Therefore, in the interest of justice, it is necessary to freeze his assets.
