School admission benefits one-time, not comparable to quotas: Rizwana

Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan clarified that a one-time decision has been made to facilitate school admissions for family members of those injured or killed during the July-August mass uprising.

This benefit will apply to the families of approximately 12,500 injured individuals as part of a broader one-time assistance package for affected families. “It is in no way comparable to a quota,” she emphasised.

Rizwana shared these remarks during a media briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Tuesday, March 4.

The Environment Adviser also provided an update on the interim government’s advisory council, noting that 22 meetings have been held to date. Of the 135 decisions made in these meetings, 92 have been implemented, achieving an implementation rate of 68.16 percent. “This is a fairly commendable rate,” she added.
