60 arrested in joint forces’ operation in Tongi

A joint forces operation in the Mazar slum area of Tongi, Gazipur, led to the arrest of 60 individuals on Saturday evening. The arrestees include drug dealers, drug users, and those involved in various other illegal activities. During the operation, authorities recovered cash, narcotics, and homemade weapons from the suspects.

Md Raihan Ul Islam, the Executive Magistrate of Gazipur District Administration, confirmed the arrests. He stated that the operation was conducted with the support of joint forces as part of an initiative by the Gazipur District Administration to address specific complaints and prevent the deterioration of law and order in the area.

The operation involved personnel from the Army's Gazipur and Uttara camps, along with members of RAB and GMP. In total, 60 individuals were arrested on charges related to drug trafficking, usage, and other criminal activities. Cash, various narcotics, and homemade weapons were seized during the raid.

Legal action is being taken against the arrestees, and the district administration emphasised that such operations will continue to improve law and order in the area.
