Martyrs’ families to get Tk 30 lakh each

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Thursday, February 27, said each of the families of the martyrs of July mass uprising will receive Tk 30 lakh.

Of the amount, Tk 10 lakh will be given through savings certificate this fiscal year (2024-25) and remaining Tk 20 lakh in the next FY, he said

He provided this information in a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.

Shafiqul said those who suffered injuries during the uprising would receive financial support in three categories – 493 individuals in ‘A’, 908 in ‘B’ and 10,648 in ‘C’.

He also said the martyrs’ families and the injured will be getting monthly allowance regularly.

Suggestions have been taken from everyone, including medical boards, to make the lists of martyrs and injured of the July uprising, the press secretary added.
