Cop’s hanging body found in Kushtia

The hanging body of a police constable was recovered in Kushtia’s Mirpur on Wednesday morning, February 26.

The victim, Rakibul Islam, worked at the Jhenaidah Police Lines and was a resident of Katlamari village in Kushtia’s Mirpur.

Family members said they found Rakib hanging in his room at their village home around 10:00am and informed the police.

Later, the police went to the spot and sent the body to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The officer-in-charge of Mirpur police station, Mominul Islam, he had borrowed money from various people as his family’s financial status is not good. The lenders were creating pressure on him to give back the money but he was unable to pay, which might lead him to commit suicide.
