9 more officials to be promoted to secy in couple of days

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Md Mokhlesur Rahman, has announced that nine more officials will be promoted to the position of secretary in the next couple of days.

He made this statement while speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday (February 23).

He said, "Within the next one or two days, nine more officials will be appointed as secretaries and assigned to vacant ministries."

The senior secretary further explained, "We have selected 12 individuals as secretaries through four SSB meetings. It was a very challenging process for us. Most of those being appointed as secretaries were previously deprived and are highly qualified. None of them are on contract; all are being promoted from within the service."

Currently, 10 ministries and divisions are without a secretary. These include the Ministry of Culture, the Bridge Division, the Planning Commission, the National Parliament Secretariat, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, the Ministry of Commerce, the Planning Commission, the Implementation, Training, and Evaluation Division, the Statistics and Information Management Division, and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
